Mexican President Fox Threatens U.S.

Monday 4/12/2004

Welcome to My World, where it's no secret, especially in southwestern America, that we have been deluged with illegal immigrants from Mexico, many of them not only breaking immigration laws but a disproportionate number of them breaking the criminal laws of our country, ending up in our prison system, some of them guilty of capital crimes, sitting on death row. This has Mexican President Vicente Fox, who claims to be our staunchest ally, but constantly proves otherwise, all upset. He continues to allow his people to break our laws, flooding our borders, hoping to see them out of his hair by becoming Americans, until they commit a serious crime. Then suddenly, as if by magic, they become his fine Mexican citizens. El Presidente's latest move displays this double standard. Now whether you agree with the death penalty or not, is not the question here. It's this arrogance on the part of Fox that bothers me. He is actually threatening the U.S. with the U.N. if we don't review the cases of 51 Mexican murderers sitting on death row in the U.S. Fox has maneuvered a ruling from the International Court of Justice, the U.N.'s highest judiciary, that the U.S. has violated the rights of these Mexican murderers by not letting their government help them, in violation of the 1963 Vienna Convention. First of all his agenda is to see the killers not pay the full price for murder, some of the cases pretty grizzly, and of course to paint a barbaric picture of the U.S. justice system. He wants U.N. action against the United States, which if it wasn't so seriously pathetic, would be almost humorous. He's trying to get the flea to kill the dog. The bite of the U.N. as we have seen many times, is like a toothless grandpa trying to gum an ear of corn. Friends, Vicente Fox as smooth as he is, is not our real friend. He never has been nor will he ever be. He doesn't have our best interests in mind, despite his smiling, back slapping charm. He is only the short term leader of a damn near third world country who thinks he can manipulate the most powerful nation on the planet, as I see it ... I'm H.G. Listiak.
