Tell The Truth About The Iraq Clean Up

Wednesday 10/22/2003

Welcome to my world, where as a military veteran, I'm growing very weary of the liberal media hacking and attacking our fighting men and women in harms way in Iraq and Afghanistan, America's first strikes in the war against terrorism. "The Morale is Low" "They Can't Find Bin Laden or Hussein" "More Soldiers Killed" "The Iraqis Want Us Gone" Any and every day of the week you'll read dozens of items against the occupations in the liberal papers, and on the left wing magic lantern TV, glamorizing the Democrats even more when they bash the President and the clean up efforts. Recently a military officer came out with a form letter for soldiers to send to their home town media, saying that things weren't as bad as the press and politicians portrayed. The press quickly discredited it as a hoax, but the following came from one soldier who says, add my real letter to the pile that says the media are distorting the truth in Iraq:

I returned recently from a combat tour in Iraq with the 101st Airborne, and can say unequivocally that the news is far better than the picture painted for the public. Either the media are uninformed or intentionally misleading people to sell stories. This issue is not about politics, it's about soldiers working their tails off and then seeing garbage in print, a failure played up, a success played down and buried. Most Iraqis loved us. The country is gradually getting back on it's feet. Friends still stationed in Iraq have emailed, asking what country are these reporters talking about? As soldiers we don't want to inject ourselves into politics, but we do want the truth reported about the great job that is being done in Iraq. Signed Capt. Russel D. Meyer, U.S. Army.

As far as I'm concerned, I will believe this man before a Ted Kennedy or the liberal media, who will continue this biased fiction until at least the Presidential election is over. Well done Captain, very well done, as I see it ... I'm H.G. Listiak.
