Gay Acceptance Polls and Pray for Pay

Monday 08/04/2003

Welcome to my world, where it's diversity day. A recent U.S.A. Today and C.N.N. gallop poll has much of the Gay community jumping out of their pumps, all a twitter over the straight backlash. In May, 60% of the polled people felt homosexual relations between consenting adults should be legal. Two months later the same poll was down to only 48% and dropping. So what happened? I think it was the over kill. Media exploitation buoyed by an in-your-face smug attitude by gays over recent court rulings. The gay sitcoms and reality shows like "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" and "Boy Meets Boy" flaunted in front of mainstream Americans was too much to handle. Now, I'm against same sex marriages, but what you do in your bedroom and with whom is your business. Just don't make me sit in my lazy boy and watch it. And even more on diversity, as we look at Greenwood Acres Full Gospel Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. It's an all black church, where the Bishop Fred Caldwell got a flash from above that he must do something radical to increase the diversity of his flock. He wanted the Kingdom of God to look like it's supposed to, desegregated. He needed white people for all black congregations. So this month it's pray for pay, dollars for diversity, as he offers white folks five dollars an hour to grace a pew during Sunday services with the hire a honky fee going up to ten dollars an hour for Thursday prayer meetings. He didn't say how much a white guy could make singing "Rock of Ages" in the choir, but even if it would be off rhythm it would be diversity. Say "Amen" brother, say "Amen", as I see it. I'm H.G. Listiak.
